THOUGHT DROP
We’re dropping the kids off at summer sleep-away camp today, and I have all the emotions! I’m SO excited for them (they love camp). I never got to be a camp kid (too many of us to send!), but I did get to live the camp life as a counselor in college, and let me tell you, there’s nothing like that camp magic. I’m so grateful we can give this experience to our kids. They’re going to make the best memories—being silly, stepping out of their comfort zones, building new friendships, and just living their best lives without tech for a few weeks.
On the flip side, I am SO excited for some time with just Matt. The very first thing I’m going to do when we get home today? Mop all my floors and rip the couch covers off. I know it sounds lame, but there is nothing more satisfying than walking barefoot through the house without picking up crumbs, mulch, and all the other stuff the kids drag in. And, finally, I get to see what my couch really looks like without all the covers!
Of course, summer camp also gives us the best gift of all—the ability to sneak away for a trip! This year, we’re taking full advantage and heading to St. Barts for a few days later this week. We’ve never been, and I am literally counting down the minutes!
XO
