Catch Up With Christina 8.10
summer burnout, way too much Fortnite, eating out less
CURRENTLY INTO
Watching: We finished up our summer flag football league last weekend and the kids played against each other in the tournament (so fun and stressful to watch and cheer for)!
Shopping: For back-to-school — check out our tween boy finds here and Caroline’s tween girl finds here!
Eating: One of our favorite summer traditions, both kids have recently selected a recipe to learn to make for our family. Thomas made enchiladas and Caroline nailed our family fave poached eggs in sauce.
Reading: Finally cracked open this thriller at the beach. Read 9 pages.
Listening to: Way too much Fortnite being played.
Loving: My new headphones.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
My latest Catch Up With Christina covering vacay highlights, what makes me happy, my favorite photo hack, and lots more.
Just ordered my favorite everyday tee in longsleeve for fall. Get it 40% off with my code CE-CAROLINACHARM!
These fun lunchbox jokes from my Amazon School Favorites List (which also includes our favorite snacks)!
We are back on a chia pudding kick for breakfast.
I recently scooped up a new Dazzle Dry color (The Duchess) and love it. This is my go-to for at-home manis—it dries in 4 minutes, lasts over a week, and doesn’t chip.
My watermelon margarita is currently my top trafficked post right now – make it before summer ends!
THOUGHT DROP
This summer is flying by, and while we still have a few weeks before school starts, the back-to-school prep is already in full swing over here. We’ve had an amazing summer—probably our best yet. But now, we’re in that final stretch, juggling school prep while still trying to savor these last few weeks. It’s that awkward in-between phase where we’re shopping for supplies, scheduling doctor appointments, and filling out all the paperwork…but still trying to soak up the last bit of summer.
We’re done with vacations, done with camps, and I’ll be honest—I’m tired. These last few weeks always seem to drag out. It’s kind of like the final days of the school year, but in reverse. In the coming weeks, bedtimes will start getting earlier, we’ll host fewer sleepovers, “pool showers” will no longer cut it, and we’ll inch toward reducing screen time.
So, if you’ve noticed a little less content from me lately, that’s why. I’m barely sitting down at my computer, and I suspect that’ll be the case until the kids head back to school on August 25th.
XO
